Waterbots, Fab Academy, Fashion and more at Singapore Polytechnic’s space for Maker Faire Singapore 2016

This is the fifth year Singapore Polytechnic staff and students are participating Maker Faire Singapore (MFS) as one integrated booth to celebrate making in the course of teaching & learning – reports Shin Jen, who is leading a large contingency of makers, staff and students from Singapore Polytechnic’s various departments.

Staff make projects to demonstrate concepts and ideas to students whereas students make projects with the know-how acquired. MFS is an excellent platform for makers alike to express technical creativity, and to connect with the wider community. We are glad to have staffs from SP whom have undertaken FabAcademy2016 at FabLab@SP, FabLab student assistants, Maker Coaches, students from CCA clubs: SP Makers Club, to show & tell the projects made. For the first time, makers from SP Business School will be participating too! In SP, we make stuff. We actively promote the culture of making through investing in the necessary infrastructure, and building of competencies & capabilities. Staff and students in SP have access to digital fabrication tools housed in FabLabs, experts in the various knowledge domains, and makerSPace to engineer one’s imagination into a reality. Check out the highlights of maker inspired projects:

Four SP staffs from three departments collaborated, designed and fabricated a 3-axis multi-end-effector MTM in due course, as part of the requirement for completion of the FabAcademy.
