Yarnbombing Singapore Booth.
We are a community group of street artists using yarn instead of paint. The centerpiece will be our impression of the Merlion that is future ready. It is made up of 2050 2in squares and 123 4in squares that have been contributed by the community of crafters in Singapore and overseas. Our partners from One Maker Group will be incorporating tech elements to jointly create a Merlion that is 21st century.
The Merlion’s garden will have giant bees, mushrooms, water and flower laden swing all yarnbombed! We will have workshops on both days to teach how to make the 3D bees and mushrooms. Register online at http://yarnbombingsg.peatix.com

Juggling Therapy Workshop. Booth. Presentation.
Juggling is commonly treated as a performance art to be done by professional with years of training. However, with a little practice anyone can do it, and provides benefits like increased metabolism, enhanced white matter in the brain and reduced anxiety. This booth showcases the types of props you can make at home to juggle, and some novel devices to teach juggling to anyone!
String Art Workshop. Booth.
String art is the use of string, thread, wire or fibre as an art medium to create geometrical patterns or abstract designs. The medium is wound around a series of nails fixed to a surface or the edges of a pattern, or stitched through a pattern with a needle. The lines formed are straight lines , but it is the slightly different angle or position each line takes and intersects with other lines that form the mesmerizing patterns.
Ground Up Initiative Booth.
Ground-Up Initiative (GUI) will be bringing the Kampung Spirit down to Maker Faire 2016! We will be showcasing a wide variety of activities, taking you on an enlightening journey through time and its various learning techniques. These activities range from old school activities such as calligraphy and making your own medieval catapults, to modern day activities such as electronics workshops and upcycling of recycled waste materials. Many of our activities will also include an element of self development, and we will be giving participants a sneak preview of an upcoming workshop: “Foundations of Coding and Electronics”. So come on down and experience for yourselves the 21st century Kampung Spirit!
Learn to Solder Booth.
It’s a simple, fun way to learn how to solder or teach others to solder. Once complete, you’ll have a great blinky robot that you can proudly wear and when people ask where you got it, you get to reply “I made it!”

Hideaways – Creating with Nature’ is an immersive experience which invites children to explore, observe, construct, reflect, innovate and engage with nature and natural materials through hands-on exhibits and interactive artists’ installations. Led by Creative Director Jeremy Chu, and created by artists, each installation provides an interdisciplinary and engaging experience serving as an important reminder of the world’s ecosystem.

The AFS aims to develop the world of sport aviation and astronautical activities in Singapore. It serves to make evident the essentially international spirit of aeronautics as a powerful instrument for bringing all people closer in mutual understanding, and to educate young people through sport in a spirit of mutual understanding and friendship.
