Pocket Hologram

Our team is inspired by the ubiquity of holograms and strongly believe in their future pervasiveness in our daily lives. Inspired by Microsoft’s HoloLens- our team wants to put holograms into the hands of each Maker- by producing pocket hologram kits that anyone can assemble. Once assembled- these laser cut pieces simply need to be placed above a screen that plays holographic videos off YouTube and it will instantly pull images out of that 2D world and into life like 3D.

Die cutting is more Eco-Friendly as it doesn’t use any electrical energy to manufacture.

The idea of a hologram phone is all over the internet. Anybody can create a hologram phone using a CD case.

We tried to create the same for maker fair. After successfully making the first prototype. We wanted to improve it.

Workshop will give participants hands-on experience in building a hobby-grade radio control (r/c) model car. In addition to the build- we will also educate participants on how r/c cars operate- the science between car setups so that the run well (similar to set-ups for formula 1 cars). Following the build- we aim to give participants the chance to practice on the proposed beginners’ race track- and finally conduct a simple race for the participants. Participants will finally get to go home with the r/c car that they have built and race. Apart from the workshop/race at the Maker Faire- we would like to propose that participants get to participate in follow-up races that we can jointly organise at the Science Centre. This gives added value to the whole activity and also ensures that participants’ interest in this hands-on hobby is sustained.

Creating IoT products with NETPIE platform

The workshop will teach the basic of IoT development using Arduino and NETPIE IoT platform.

Participants will learn to create a quick prototype of IoT device- to send sensor data to NETPIE dashboard- to store sensor data in NETPIE storage- and to send control command from web application to the IoT device.

NETPIE platform is a cloud-based platform-as-a-service that facilitates interconnecting IoT devices together in a most seamless and transparent manner possible by pushing the complexity of connecting IoT devices from the hands of application developers or device manufacturers to the cloud.

NETPIE provides SDKs- APIs- and tools that will shorten your IoT development time from months to days.

Note:*All participants are required to bring your own laptop to NETPIE Workshop**
