We will be conducting an electronic piano building workshop where participants will assemble a basic electronic piano using a simple 555 timer based electronic piano.
We have created an electronic piano kit which produces sounds of frequencies according to the piano scale. The difference in sound is created according to the RC time constant principles and made possible with the 555 timer.
During the workshop- participants will be educated about the science behind music making as well as the concept of varying frequencies to product sounds of different pitch.
Participants will then follow instructions to create their very own electronic piano by first building up the analog circuitry on a mini breadboard.
After the electronic components are built- they will then assemble the piano body around the breadboard- completing the electronic piano project.
At the end of the workshop- each participant can expect to walk away with an electronic piano that they have made during the course of the workshop. A valid Maker Faire Singapore ticket and workshop pre-registration is required.
